Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo

On the 4th of March we made our way to Mount Cook and - lucky us- the weather was perfect today.
Blue sky and lots of sunshine, very nice :-)
At Mount Cook we did a 3 hours hike, the Hooker Valley Track. A nice walking track and not too exhausting. We could see the top of the mountain covered in fresh white snow. Really beautiful.

After our trip to Mount Cook we drove to Lake Tekapo on a campground. The first night was freezing cold although we were wrapped up warm in four layers of clothes, sleepingbags and blankets.Probably the coldest night I've had so far here in NZ in the tent.
But we had nice weather on the next day so we did a hike on the top of Mount John. We had beautiful views over the lake and all the mountains around.
Fortunately the second night wasn't as cold as the first one so we had a better sleep (even though my airmattress goes flat every night)
