Agnes Water

Scooteroo Tour in Agnes Water - we had heaps of fun :-)

The following day we did a day trip to Lady Musgrave Island on the outer Great Barrier Reef.
It was absolutely amazing. Great weather, beautiful turquiose water, dolphins, turtles and great snorkelling with a big variety of reef fish.

And the next day I did a fun surfing lesson:

AUSTRALIA

After a short stop in Auckland, where I still have my car and lots of stuff in it, we flew to Cairns in Australia. It was a 5,5 hours flight and we arrived pretty late around midnight in the hostel.
The next morning we decided to rent a JUCY Camper for the next two weeks and we got a really good deal so we didn't hesitate long and booked it. A bright green camper where we can sleep in the back in the car and it even comes with a fridge and a gascooker in the back.

But before we started our roadtrip we visited our friend Inge in Cairns and spent two days with her and her mother. We went to a Safari Park to have breakfast with the lions and we also had a look around Kuranda where she lives now. It's much warmer here in Australia than it was in New Zealand so thats quite nice:-)
After leaving Cairns on the 12th of June we had our first overnight stop at a Caravan Park in Mission Beach right next to the beach. Going camping is definetely different from staying in hostels but I think its much more fun and you have much more privacy than you have in a hostel.
Further stops along the way were Townsville where we went to the Billabong Sanctuary with lots of kangaroos and koalas...then Mackay, Yepoon and afterwards we drove all the way
to Agnes Water/Town of 1770. We ended up staying there for 4 nights because we liked it so much. We did a 3,5 hours Scoteroo Tour which was great fun. The following day we did a daytrip to Lady Musgrave Island at the Great Barrier Reef. Beautiful weather so good for snorkelling and seeing lots of different fish. It was an awesome day.
I also went surfing again and that was good fun, too. And we just enjoyed the sun at the beach as well.
After 4 days in Agnes Water we made our way to Noosa. Noosa has got a beautiful sandy beach and the Rainforest National Park is just next to it so we stayed there 3 nights as well in a really nice caravan park.
Our last stop on our australian trip was Brisbane. We had to drop off our camper after two weeks and  then it was time to say goodbye to my Mum. We had 6 wonderful weeks together and we saw so many different places...hard to believe what you can see and do in 6 weeks.
It was strange to be on my own again but that's part of travelling, too.

Here are pictures from the trip with my Mum:
